(2005-)

rhodri davies: harp, ebows, electronics, preparations

lee patterson: amplified devices, field recordings

david toop: laptop, steel guitar, flutes, percussive devices

The trio brings together three highly distinct approaches to sound. Toop on flutes, feedback device, laptop and lap-steel guitar with preparations, Davies on electric horizontal harp with preparations, pre-recorded mini-disc and electronics, and Patterson using contact-mic'd metal plate with preparations, wine glasses and pre-recorded mini-disc and CDs.

The music positions electronics and field recordings alongside acoustic instrumentation. Drawing upon Installation, improvisation and live electronics to excite the sculptural/spatial volume of the performance space.

It brings to the fore a heightened sense of textural interplay, delicate sonorous layering and feedback driven movements. Sound that embraces space, substantial volume and near silence. Throughout the focus is on the subtle manipulation of sound at its inception, its form and decay.
